Commissions

Joan enjoys painting commissioned portraits, and she accepts commissions of subjects which share a special significance for a person, family, or specific place. For example, the Banners, The Butterfly's Gift (see below), was painted for Northaven United Methodist Church for All Saints Day as a memorial to friends and family of the church who had died within the previous year. Two portraits of former Pastors, John Thornburg and Bourdon Smith, also are on display there.

Banners are priced $1 per square inch. Portraits and commissioned paintings are priced individually by size and time enlisted in the painting of the subject.
